Our Hobby Lobby has only been open for less than two months and I’m already wondering how we lived without it.
I want to have all kinds of little, inexpensive gifts wrapped so Addie can start on December 1 and open one til Christmas Day. Kinda like an advent calendar of sorts. There will be little notes from Granny in each package. I wanted the first week’s gifts to be Christmas crafty type things.
Here’s what I have so far:
I may give her the two books while I’m there next week. This is a good start, thanks to Hobby Lobby.
And look at these bows I got for some of her birthday gifts.
As it gets closer to Christmas, Aldi usually has some cute trinket type gifts for kids too. I’ll go by the dollar type stores. I may throw in a few interesting edible items but that may be too much temptation for Speck. I’ll make her a couple of new hats with furry pompoms.
Being a grandma is so fun!

I use to do this many years ago for my nephews, it was so much fun. My oldest nephew is now 48. I did something like this for the 3 of them until they were in their 20s. Then auntie didn’t have good tastes. Have fun being a grandma.

Yes, it’s great fun! A bit more when they are young. Now I am working on a garter, pillowcases, embroidered tea towels and a wedding quilt. He’s a good man but we got to this sharing time way too fast! The quilt will be named “our Princess found her Prince”. She established herself right out of college in the local advertising world and has continued to move up. Like your Addie, she has personality, kindness and she’s beautiful! Enjoy your girl! We went from 6 to 26 in the blink of an eye!

When we were walking at the mall today I saw charms at Peddler’s that were 50 cents each. Plus all the unicorn stuff at Clair’s that I emailed you about.

Thanks. Maybe I can pick up some things for her there for her little Christmas surprises.

All my door decorations, except one, are from Hobby Lobby, usually at 40% off. One of the spring ones broke this year, so I’ll have to get another – and I know they’ll have something cute and affordable!
