I was sitting here on the computer when I heard the rain on the metal roof. It only rained for a few minutes but it rained pretty hard for a couple of those minutes.
Left Side of the Porch
We still might get more rain.

I was so very tempted to grab my towel and bar of soap and run out and take a shower in the rain! I didn’t but I wanted to.
Rain
Short and sweet but almost half an inch of rain. Just enough to settle the dust and I can open the windows tonight while we’re sleeping.
Dead Grass
Our grass looks totally dead and is so crunchy. My friend calls it potato chip grass because it’s so crunchy. I’m betting by morning, it’s green. It’s weird how it does that.
Green Patch
See that one green patch? I was filling the bird bath one day last week, tossed the hose on the ground (no nozzle on the hose), meant to walk over and turn off the faucet, got side tracked and totally forgot. After an hour or so I remembered!
A half of inch of rain is great for the grass but the trees need so much more so hopefully there will be more rain later tonight or tomorrow. I’m writing this a bit after midnight though I know few will read it til morning. Maybe by the time you see this, we will have had more rain!

well, you got more rain than we did–only a sprinkle here, maybe enough to wet the sidewalk. I’ve been watching the radar off and on all day and everything goes north or south of us. You are cooler than we are as well. It’s 75 now. My husband will be checking his game cameras to see if his ranch got any south of you.

Oh wow, that second picture is a fantastic shot of straight falling rain! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a nice picture showing rain at night.

I wish it would rain here on the Western Slope of Colorado. I went to pack the trailer and it was so hot – it can wait till after sundown. Come on Fall with cooler weather for sure .. Supposedly we are gonna have a wicked winter here in Colorado. Well if so I will keep my Lopi stove a going and keep the house warm, bake some goodies and do some reading, crocheting, hand sewing and of course loving on my dog.

The last time I looked we had received nearly 1 1/2 inches total today! Our rain started around midnight and kept going until around 2. Looks like there could be more coming tomorrow and/or Sunday. I am hoping so!!

Great picture of the rain. What type of weather reporting system do you use, the amount of information your picture shown is fantastic. I need to replace our existing system and l looking for options.
