Chad, Nicole and Addie are in Louisiana. Chad texted this to me this morning. He did tell me that the humidity/real feel temp is 94°.
They’ve been there plenty of times in the summer but she’s in and out with Addie.
Addie was out playing in the sprinkler and this was a great picture of her jumping it.
I probably would have said no to getting in the water right there but I was always the overprotective mom. But, maybe that’s the only way to keep cool today. I would have been ok with jumping off the end of the dock.
Even the neighbor’s dog came out to play in the water with Addie.
I would have gone to meet them in Louisiana but I wanted to be in MO next week for Addie’s first day of school and then I have to get the flower girls’ dresses made and that would have put be being gone three weeks and I don’t know that Vince would have been too happy about that.
He is threatening to send me to MO to spend the winter. He thinks I’ll come back saying “I love Texas and never want to leave.” He may be right. I don’t think Chad would be too happy about me being there all winter but I’d be willing to try! I could spend my first Christmas and Thanksgiving with them since we moved – seven years without spending holidays with them. We never went before because Vince had to be back to work and if it snowed and we got stuck there for an extra day or so, that could have been a problem. Now, we don’t have any reason except getting someone to care for the chickens and the cats. Last year we were gone at Christmas and had several days of hard freezes and our friends had to deal with keeping the chickens’ water thawed and putting the hoses on the faucets and taking them off and it was a lot more trouble than normal. If I want to spend holidays in MO, I’m going to have to get rid of the chickens and I’m not quite ready for that.

I travel so often without my husband it’s seems normal. He takes care of the house and dog while I’m gone. I do the same thing when he travels. ….and they live happily ever after.

I wouldn’t get into that dirty looking water.

What about alligators??

Hopefully, it won’t be that long before you are able to be close enough to spend a holiday with them.
