My new August project is Slow Curves and I’m so glad I changed projects. This one is a fun knit and it’s easy to make fast progress. I don’t think I’ll have a hard time getting it finished . . just depends on how much knitting time I have while in Missouri.
I’m almost finished with Color #2. According to the pattern, Color #1 (the light yellow – Daisy) used 110 yards. The next color (the gold – Harvest), used 220 yards. The third color (the speckled blue – Jaded Dreams) will use 440 yards and the fourth and final color (the darkest blue – Snake) will use 350 yards.
Basically, I’ve used 330 yards in about three days and I have 790 yards left so I’m figuring if I have about 8 good days of knitting, I should be able to get it done but 8 days while I’m in MO will be hard and when I get home, I’ll only have a few days before the end of the month so I’m trying to get as much done as I can before I go.
I was able to unwind some of the previous project and get enough for Colors 1 and 2 but I had used quite a bit of Color 3 and some of it was cut into several pieces and since the pattern says it needs 440 yards and the skein only has 420 yards, I went ahead and ordered another skein of Color #3. I had not used any of Color #4 previously so I have plenty of that one.
Today I made a little progress with Color #3. It’s looking very good . . if I do say so myself.

This is very pretty, and I already like it better than the other one. Not that you asked me. 😉

So pretty! I like this one better also. Tempts me to knit. Not yet though. I’m spending my free time reading through my boxes of children’s books, and deciding: put on new bookcase for grandchildren/other visitors, give to other children, or otherwise make it go byebye. Beginning early down-sizing.
