A reader told me a while back about matcha tea. Today while shopping, I noticed it and bought some. I am not a tea drinker but it isn’t bad at all. Maybe that’s desperation speaking . . maybe if I were drinking Dr. Peppers, I wouldn’t like the matcha. I put 1/2 tsp. in hot water, stirred it up, then added cold water, a couple of drops of stevia and poured it over ice. It has caffeine so that may be what helps me get over the Dr. Pepper. I like the tea a lot better than I like those stevia drinks I bought the other day.
A reader asked about Dr. Pepper Ten. I haven’t tried it but looked at it and it his high fructose corn syrup, which I don’t usually drink. I may get some for when I’m desperate but I don’t want to get in the habit of drinking it. The Dr. Pepper I drink is the one made with sugar but I will check out the Dr. Pepper Ten. A can of Dr. Pepper made with cane sugar has 36 carbs where a 12 oz. can of DP Ten has 3 carbs. I knew the sugar variety had a lot of carbs but I wouldn’t have dreamed it had 36 carbs. That’s kinda scary! No wonder I weigh what I weigh! 🙁

I could give up food before my Dr Pepper. I don’t drink coffee, so it’s my drink first thing every morning.

I have some matcha tea to put in smoothies, but I’ve never tried it like you’re describing. I also have a hot tea blend called Bigelow Benefits that has matcha in it. I had two cups of that this morning. I use monk fruit – I can’t stand the taste of stevia. I gave up sodas long ago, but every now and then I’ll have one – maybe once a month. Coke is my weakness, but I can control the craving now. I drink water, iced tea, kefir, and green juice. When I’m at work I’ll have half a cup of coffee with some Hershey’s special dark chocolate powder (in the baking aisle) and monk fruit in the mornings. Just a little goes a long way, and it’s a good pick-me-up. I figure that since coffee and dark chocolate are both good for you in moderation, it’s a good way to get in those anti-oxidants and a little boost

I also can’t stand Stevia so I’m buying Swerve which is also all natural but pretty darned expensive. Dieting is expensive. I’ve been on the KETO diet for 5 1/2 weeks and finally am up to an 8 lb loss. I’m recovering from back surgery so I think my body is in fight or flight. I also drink a Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in juice every night and haven’t been sick since I started doing that. Too bad it doesn’t work for pain! Good luck with your diet!

the matcha tea should work – it has almost double the caffeine as dr. pepper

What about getting the smaller cans of DP? They cost a little more, but I find that one every once in a while will keep me going for a long time before the craving strikes. =)
