Oh, my goodness . . our Hobby Lobby is open. It’s a blessing and a curse. It’s nice to have it but I made the mistake of going in there with Vince. We’be been back . . three days in a row.
Over the weekend, he decided he wanted a Cricut. I have a Cricut I’ve never learned to use. It’s the Air 2. Then he saw the Maker. No . . we do not need a Maker. Learn to use the one I have already and if you feel like you need the Maker, then get it. What to do you want to make? He doesn’t know. I managed to talk him out of getting that but temporarily I’m sure.
Jewelry Making
Today we went back to Hobby Lobby. He walks the aisles. He’s truly bored and doesn’t know what he wants to do to entertain himself. I think that’s probably normal after having worked for so many years and having lots of free time now.
He decided jewelry making lookfed fun. He bought this book.
Then we went to the grocery store, then to Aldi. He found a lawn mower they had marked down to $99. He was thrilled.
Me: Do you need another lawn mower?
Vince: You can always use another lawn mower?
Me: Really?
We rarely cut the grass because of the drought and Vince is not “Mr. Keep the Yard Manicured!” I asked him . . how many lawn mowers do we have? Two riding mowers, 4 push mowers, some kind of massive weed eater looking thing that you walk behind and a tractor.
We do just fine if we stay home. One we leave the house . . all bets are off. I have to beg to stop shopping and go home.
The good news is . . hopefully we won’t be going anywhere the rest of the week. In my dreams, huh??

He’s done stained glass. Still has all the tools and lots of beautiful glass. When we lived in KY, there was a wonderful stained glass shop across the river in Newburgh, IN and Vince went there often.

Get him in to wood working. It has such a wide range of applications. He could be carving a beautiful gate to the garden, carving a new front door for the house or a sweet chicken coop

He already carves or, he has all the carving tools, books, carving wood. We have several little things he’s carved.

Can you get him to carve a Unicorn, or maybe a whole herd of Unicorns ? A life size Unicorn could keep him busy for a while..
