Thank you all for your thoughts on the beads. you made some really good points. The were two comments that almost had me changing my mind about my choice:
I like the idea of dew drops in a mystical forest.
The second comment:
Insects? Really? I hope I don’t think about that every time I wear that shawl! 🙂
Here are more not so great pictures of the beads, taken through their plastic bags. By the way, all the beads are all the same size – Size 8.
These are the ones on the bottom left:
These are a matte silver lined gray and I agree that they blend too much with the fabric but . . dew drops . . I love that!
These are the the top beads:
I agree with those who said there was very little difference in the top and bottom right beads. These are the gunmetal beads that I had originally thought I would use before I began digging out other options.
The bottom right, and the one I was thinking I’d use is this:
It’s gunmetal iris and it has just a little color to them. They’re actually, in real life, almost as dark as the top beads but with just a hint of color when the light catches them.
Y’all have me so confused. My original plan had been to use the bottom right beads but now I don’t know. Choosing beads is always the hardest part of making a beaded project. I’m thinking since all three seem to be good options, I will pick the beads that I’m least likely to use for another project. How’s that for making a decision?

In these pictures, I like the previously bottom right choice. I like the idea of a little blue in them, too. And now the previously top one looks darker than before. I say stick with your gut and use the ones you wanted to use before over-thinking it. 🙂

Good choice….the lower right….they look pretty with the yarn.

I think your choice will be fine. They do have a tinge of blue to them.
