Last night I looked over at Vince’s chair and thought this picture about sums up our last few days.
He’s used up all the Kleenex and started using toilet paper. He came down with a cold towards the end of last week and still isn’t feeling great, but he is feeling better. Wednesday I felt like I was having sinus issues but by last night, realized I have his cold.
I took cough medicine last night so at least I slept good with not much coughing.
I have been wanting to make Chicken Soup with Lime Juice and Avocados. Today will be a good day to make it. I have everything here, including home canned chicken that will be easy and tasty. The rest of the day shall be spent sitting in my chair and knitting or in my bed napping!

I got sick on my trip (about a month ago) and still have a lingering cough. I hate that it takes so long (for me anyway) for the cough to quit. The name of that soup immediately brought to mind my favorite at Cristina’s Tex-Mex. It’s avocado soup with carrots and avocado in a chicken broth with (assuming) Monterey Jack cheese. It’s all I EVER eat there with chips and salsa of course!!

Oh no! Hope you are feeling better soon.

Colds in the summer? Have never had one then. And since I discovered Allibiotic I haven’t had one in the winter either for the past two years. That stuff is like a miracle. And if a germ should sneak in I cook up my elderberry brew with elderberries, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, whole star anise, a little ginger and raw honey and any little germ is gone within a day or two. Feel better soon!!

One of my favorite family stories is…. my nephew was about 3 and he was staying with my Mom, his grandmother Mom used toilet paper to wipe his nose. When his Mother got there to pick him up he said “Mom! Do you know what she used on my nose?” He knew what toilet paper was for and it wasn’t a nose!
I love all your blog posts and always read them first!

Nap! I know you love to knit, but your body needs to rest. You both need to sleep when your body tells you to do it! Listen to Dr. Nelle! LOL I don’t charge for medical advice due to not having a license. I believe in the old saying feed a cold, starve a fever, heard that all my life. Drink as much water as you can. Dr. Pepper doesn’t count! LOL I talked to my dr. Thursday and she told me the cramps in my legs were most likely due to the prednisone and to drink at least 1 liter of Tonic Water a day until they go away. Just look what that medicine did to you!! She told me it will dehydrate you fast! I did not know this. So I will be getting me some as soon as I go to the store. Just been staying inside trying to stay cool. However, it is getting cooler with all the clouds!

Forgot to say I hope you get well soon!! Will keep both of you in my prayers. I guess the tonic water might have quinine in it. That is what they used to give for leg cramps until they took it off the shelves and not an OTC product any longer!!

I would never imagine anyone could use up all your Kleenex! I KNOW that won’t happen with the toilet paper.

I had the same thought. 🙂
