A knitting friend said she’s made this bread for years and brought the recipe to knitting this week.
It’s one of those breads that makes super good toast . . so my friend said. I wish I knew the proper person/party to credit for the recipe. I’m wondering if it isn’t a Fleischmann’s yeast recipe.
I think I’ll make it today and I’ll report the results tomorrow after we’ve toasted it and had it for breakfast.

My mom used to make English muffin bread…. I can’t seem to make the bread like she did. It was so yummy!

Let me know how it turns out. I would like to try it! Thanks to Merryanne for giving this to you!

Yes, it’s a Fleischmann’s recipe, but they’ve tweaked it a bit over time. The updated version is on their website. Look up: breadworld.com and search “muffins” – you’ll see it. They reduced the flour and increased the sugar. It now has 4 1/2 – 5 cups all purpose flour and 4 teaspoons sugar. I think the directions are the same.

That sounds great! I might have to try it, or give it to Stacey to try. =)
