I was not very optimistic about the lasagna. First, there’s a weight limit per tray and when I first loaded the trays, I packed it in good and then realized the trays were way too heavy so I took out every other piece and still felt the chunks were too tall for the trays but they fit so I went with it.
The lasagna was ready this morning and I was pleasantly surprised. Bad picture . . sun pouring into the sewing room and I couldn’t get a better picture. You have to work pretty fast before the food starts rehydrating itself.
Until I rehydrate some of it, I won’t be able to say for sure that it’s a success but I think it’s going to be fine. I got six bags of lasagna this morning so that’s at least six meals. I refilled the freeze dryer so that will be six more meals. Twelve meals plus we have eating it twice – 14 meals from a double recipe of lasagna. It was a long day of cooking that day but when you think about getting 14 meals . . it was really a short day of cooking.
I’ll report back after we rehydrate it and try it. That’s when we can say if we have 14 great beals or 14 not so great meals because we will eat it!

I’m trying to figure out how happy you are at success here, given that lasagna isn’t your favorite meal! Any time I want to sympathize with your not-like of red sauce, I just think of pizza. I don’t really like red pizza sauce (which can be inconvenient when with friends who want to “just order some pizza.”) C’est la vie.

After the success of all the other foods, I am sure this one will be just as yummy as the others.

Now I imagined you just sliding the lasagna casserole in there. Why did you put servings or pieces? I’m curious, because I know there’s bound to be a reason.
