Today was supposed to be cooler and I suppose it was. It’s now 6:30 p.m. and it’s 99°. It’s been being over 100° until almost 8 p.m.
This is what my car was showing at 3:07 p.m. It’s always a few degrees warmer on the road but it was still well over 100°. Summer can end now. I’m so read for fall and even winter . . anything but summer. I’m ready to wrap up in a warm shawl, have a fire in the fireplace, have it get dark at 6 p.m. so the chickens go in and I can shut them up and have the rest of the night uninterrupted .. just sitting, knitting by the fire, and sipping a glass of wine.
Too bad Mother Nature doesn’t care what I want and the next five days are over 100° and I’m sure there are plenty more of them in August.

The long range forecast is showing rain August 5. From the Accu weather it is showing the temps in the lower 100’s and even upper 90’s for the next 10 days! I would settle for that! This 110-112 is for someone other than me!

NO WINTER!!! I think I hate the cold and long, dark days as much as you hate the heat!

I am right there with you Judy.

How is Vince handling the heat? Is he ready to move yet?

It has been pretty brutal down there this year. I was waiting for a friend’s out patient surgery today and caught a good weather report on the incessant TVs they had in there -4 all tuned to different things! There was a big line – a little curvy so that it went sort of between Montana and the Dakotas and then curved down to the east of Texas. Everything on the east of that had rings of blue denoting below average temperatures – the blues varying in color as to how far below. Everything to the west had brown and orange rings denoting higher than average temperatures. The same rings showed rain to the east and not to the west. A friend in Portland told me it was about 110 today! Portland? I didn’t even know their thermometers went that high!

Colorado is supposed to have warm temperatures all the way up until October …sigh

I am in Portland and it was 93 for the high. Up to 100 by the weekend. It just felt like 110 because us northwesterners just are not used to the heat. It looks to be a very hot, dry August. So looking forward to fall.
