Except for the okra, the garden is pretty much finished. I have three pepper plants I’m trying to keep watered and hoping for more peppers in the fall but even if I water the heck out of the garden, this heat is horrible for it.
The little reddish peppers are very hot. I forget what they are but the tags are still out there. They’ve been good producers. The purple bell pepper plants are producing a little but the peppers are not getting very big with it being so hot.
I will be surprised if we even plant a garden again here but I probably say that every year at this time.

Did you get any tomatoes? I know exactly how you feel except I’m on the other end of the weather spectrum–it is 45 degrees here this morning and since July 1 we have had two hard frosts–no more garden for me.

WHAT?!! Hard frosts in early July?!! UGH! That’s awful.

The purple peppers are so pretty!! Do they taste different from a green bell pepper?
DonnainKS says
Yes, you do! And. ..I bet you will! (I know Vince is looking)

The purple peppers are very interesting! They would make a great still life!! Do they taste any different than the others??

I’ve always wanted to try the purple ones. What would you do with all the hours in your day if you didn’t plant a garden? And next year could be a perfect weather year for things to grow lush and wonderful. We’ve had an amazing rain year and if I’d had a big garden out back, it would all be going crazy by now.
