Last night while looking on Ravelry, for nothing in particular, I came across Casapinka’s “The Crown Wools“. I love all her patterns so I thought I would love to make it. I bought the pattern. It was about dark and I told Vince . . I’m going to look for yarn.
The pattern calls for 12 mini skeins and one of the yarns suggested is Miss Babs Yummy 2 Ply Toes. Miss Babs has a bunch of kits that will be shipped out next week. For real . . I am on a yarn diet now. With all the medical bills, I may never get to order yarn again!
I knew that I have a bunch of Miss Babs Yummy 2 Ply Toes so I dug through my stash and found those. I tried putting together 12 skeins that I loved but I just couldn’t do it. Most of these are browns, greens and purples that I ordered to make a project . . which I cannot remember what it is now.
I also knew I had a lot of Loopy Solids that might work. I dug all those out and couldn’t put 12 together that I loved.
I remembered that I had several “kits” with 6 gradients or 6 colors for a project but where were they? I dug! I went through tub after tub and couldn’t find them.
Boots was so ready for me to leave. I think he was thinking “If I totally ignore her, she’ll go away!”
I went back to the house and decided to go through the tubs of yarn in one of the extra bedrooms. I didn’t think the yarn sets were in there. They weren’t. We were already in bed and I remembered that the sets were spread out on the bed in the third bedroom so I told Vince . . I’ll be right back!
As of this moment, I’m thinking of using the purple and green.
One thing I don’t want to do is take bits and pieces from several sets and then screw up the great sets so I’ll choose two and maybe substitute a couple of colors for variety. I’m not sure but at least I was able to find the sets that I knew I had . . somewhere!

Your foraging for yarn sounds just like me and fabric! I always blame the cat when I can’t find that one specific print in the mountain of prints all over the house! Boots actually looked kind of suspicious to me!

Those two final colors do look good together. I loved seeing all the beautiful colors of your yarns spread out, though.
