Since fixing all the holes above the air conditioner is going to require some painting, I’ve been looking for the paint sample for this room. We had painters, sadly . . pretty typical of what we get around here, who were going to leave me samples/colors, etc. but asked to be paid early and I shouldn’t have done it but I did and they never came back to finish the job nor did they leave samples.
I’ve found it online and I can get Home Depot to match it. We bought it there but apparently it’s a discontinued color so I’m not worried about matching the paint but, oh, what treasures I found while searching.
First treasure – Vince won’t believe I found this:
The old 1996 pickup, so new and shiny once.
Now it only goes to the landfill once every week or so and makes an occasional trip to Home Depot. Considering that it’s been sitting out in the weather for the last 7 years, it doesn’t look horrible for its age. It is on its second engine but that wasn’t the truck’s fault but we’re not going to resurrect that story.
Chad was out campaigning for his friend who was running for Coroner. When we were in MO a month or so ago, Chad had a political sign in his yard.
Addie: Granny? Do you know this man (pointing to the sign)?
Me: No, I don’t believe I know him. Is he one of daddy’s friends.
Addie: Yes, and that’s who we’re cheering for!
I guess Chad had shown her signs for the opponent and when we’d pass one of those signs, Addie would say “Hey! They’re cheering for the wrong team!” I’m sure she thinks election day is like a big ball game.
Chad was, and still is, so full of himself! 🙂
Here he is peeking out of my pantry, where he knew he wasn’t supposed to be!
I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since I smocked and pleated fabric. I still have my pleater and these needles were in a drawer in the sewing room.
Really! I should get rid of that.
Hope springs eternal. Will I ever applique?
I have been missing this rascal. I have several of these. They’re one of my favorites and I couldn’t find a single seam ripper. Now I have one. Probably by the end of the day I will have found several.
Another pair of these. Totally didn’t know I had a second pair.
A very old picture of me . . many, many years ago!
I think I’ve been digging enough.
Here’s the paint I need to try to match. Maybe Vince will go to town with me this afternoon and we can get some mixed up and see how close it’s going to match 6 year old paint

I have those appliqué pins in my rug hooking supplies. Don’t toss them!

Lots of great finds! I always seem to get so excited finding all those “things” that I’ve either been looking for or that I TOTALLY forgot that I had.

What a great picture of you! I love it when I find things I think are gone forever!! Cute picture of Chad as well. I think Home Depot does a good job of matching paint. I have some I have never opened that I had good intentions to use! Oh well, as they say, I have more time than money! LOL

That was a funny post. That’s a great picture of you – and at the time, you probably thought you weren’t nearly as pretty as you were. I look back and wonder why I didn’t appreciate being that age and that fresh! LOL Addie is getting an early read on politics! You found some great treasures. Did you throw away Chad’s baby spoon? I probably wouldn’t have. LOL That is my favorite kind of seam ripper, too. I know where two are and there’s another one somewhere, I think. Should I buy a backup one, do you think? =)
