Finally, the figs are getting ripe.
These are the Black Mission figs. The Brown Turkey figs are just about to get ripe.
I’m going to freeze dry one tray of figs and see how they do before I do an entire four tray load of them.
Yesterday Vince popped open a jar of pork jambalaya and the sweet onions and let them munch on them and they both said they loved them. They were back this morning and still talking about the onions.
Vince cut the fig tree back last fall but it’s even bigger than it was and I’m so afraid of snakes being under there when I’m trying to pick figs. But, I’m not letting my figs go to waste so I’ll just suit up in my snake books every few days and go out there and pick figs.

I’m so happy for your figs! Three times I’ve tried with fig trees with no luck. I’ll just admire yours from afar.

Oh my gosh – I wish you could send me some! I love figs but have had no luck with a tree. And if I buy them in the store, they rot before I can finish them ……

It has been so long since I had a good fig to eat. I would love a tree but Pat doesn’t like them. I just like to eat them as they are.

I’m really glad that your figs are ripening. I figured that one was the outlier last week! I’m confused about who munched on the onions and jambalaya. =)
