For the past few months, I’ve finished my knitting projects but tossed them in a pile and said “I’ll blocks these some day soon” and have been doing it so starting yesterday, I’m going to get everything blocked. I started with Sunset Highway which I finished in March.
Here’s a before blocking closeup of the colorwork.
Here’s an after blocking photo:
Can you see how much smoother it looks?
Here’s the before blocking of the sweater front. It’s a little wrinkled from being in a pile of knitted items.
And here’s the after blocking photo.
The entire thing looks smoother. It almost always grows a bit in length This is going to be such a perfect sweater for fall. I would like to find a light pink tank to wear under it but I might just buy a white one and dye it if I don’t find the color I want.
Today I think I’ll soak and block a shawl. There are several of those that need blocking.

Wow that is really pretty . I love the patterns on it. Can’t find that in a store somewhere. I have always liked to look different than anyone else how about you? Never liked seeing my self coming.Guess that was why I sewed all my clothes from the time I got to be a teenager. This is cute.

Thank you so much for posting this – now I see the difference! My grandmother was a big knitter and blocked stuff but I was young and didn’t pay attention. I’ve only knitted a few flat things – baby blankets and such. Should I block those also – should I ever decide to complete another one. Your sweater is beautiful!!

You could always make the pink tank. If you can find the fabric you like.

I can see the difference. That’s a pretty sweater, and I like the contrasting darker neck and lighter body.
