I had to run to town to get a haircut and go by the post office. Got home to see the old outside unit moved out of the way.
Poor thing. I almost feel sorry for it. It didn’t get to live out it’s full life expectancy but I am tired of sweating one day and freezing the next!
The new unit is in place but not hooked up yet. May we have a long and loving relationship . . or at least as long as I live here . . which I hope isn’t really too long. Two years max . . but that’s according to me. Vince probably has other ideas.
The inside part is way bigger than the old one. Here’s the old one.
Originally, a smaller unit was installed. Then when it wouldn’t cool sufficiently, they replaced it with a bigger unit (shown above). They should have installed it so many inches down from the ceiling for air flow but instead, used the same hole so it sat way too close to the ceiling. The new unit was installed in the correct position.
They didn’t initially think they could get it all done in one day since they didn’t get here first thing this morning (had another service call to make) but it’s looking like they may finish today. I hope so.

So glad you got it done! Now on with the freeze drying and quilting!

I wonder what effect that airflow had on the problems with the other one. It’s always best to do things right the first time, and cheaper, too.
