Is it too early to talk about hamburgers? It isn’t even lunch time yet but I haven’t stopped thinking about these burgers from yesterday.
It was just a plain, grilled burger but I had leftover guacamole (from the brisket tacos) and those freeze dried onions that are so yummy!
I didn’t even have a ripe tomato to use but it was still a darned good burger.
It’s guacamole, lettuce, meat, cheese, mayo, mustard and crunchy, sweet onions.
I put potato chips on my plate but I had just munched on an onion that fell off my burger. I said . . I’m eating these onions instead of these potato chips . . and I did. Those onions are amazing.
I’m going to be watching the sales to see if I can find more Texas Sweet Onions on sale so I can make more. By the way, I opened a pint jar of the onions and we ate the entire pint . . just the two of us . . mostly me! 🙂

Man, I’d love to have some of those onions to put on green bean casserole, come Thanksgiving. Wonder if they’re available commercially?

How funny. If you got in and tell Cullen what you want, he will try to get it for you. Usually he is pretty good at getting the things people want.

It looks delicious and healthy.

Those onions are [supposedly] sooooo good for your heart! They sound delicious. But my real reason for commenting ….. as far as I’m concerned, no burger is complete without avocado on it. Forget ketchup, mayo or mustard – just give me avocado and pepper jack cheese and I’m good to go. Tomato, onion and lettuce are just bonuses. 🙂
And I hope you’re happy. Besides sitting here drooling on my keyboard over a burger, I’m wondering if I can get my Texas friend to bring me a few pounds of Texas 1015s when she comes to visit later this month. She’s already bringing a ton of HEB stuff for me – this homesick Texan needs her Texas food fixes! 😀
