What better reflects my feelings about Independence Day than red, white and blue scissors? 🙂
I also have a large pair of these.
My grandma never had a lot of nice things. She sewed a good bit and as soon as I used my first pair of Gingher scissors, I new she would love a pair so I bought her the dressmaker shears.
When my grandma passed away, mom gave me the scissors. I’m not sure how much she used them. She always saved her good stuff and rarely used it but I love having them and knowing they belonged to her for a while.

I love my Gingher scissors! I think I have an addition at 4 pair because I would love a pair of red, white and blue ones.

Funny you should mention that. When my GM passed we had to clean out her apt. I was so sad to see gifts still in boxes under her d that she never wore……saving for a special occasion. I took most of them as no one else wanted them and I wear them to this day, 50 years later.

I love my Gingher scissors! I have a large pair and small pair. Reach for them and I will raise my voice enough the hand is pulled back. Can’t think of much besides my Bernina sewing machines and Paddington, my poodle that I protect like this.

I hear you, my scissors and my Bernina are sacred.

I have a couple of pairs of the smaller Gingher scissors. My mom bought a pair when she took a lingerie sewing class. I liked them so much I bought a pair when I left home. When I got rid of my mom’s belongings, I definitely kept those scissors! I’d like to have a pair of the sewing shears, but since I have a couple of really nice pairs of shears, I can’t quite justify the cost of the Ginghers.

I remember when I fell in love with Ginghers! I still have mine, use them sometimes. I remember the year Regan was sewing a lot for Renaissance re-enactments and I sent him a pair. He was excited and his roommate couldn’t see what was so great about a pair of scissors! LOL I like the patriotic colors.

27 years ago when we got married he used my sewing Fiskars to cut paper. I calmly told him to never ever touch my Fiskars again. To this day he will occasionally pick up scissors off my desk, grin and ask “These aren’t Fiskars are they?”

Hang on to your patriotic scissors ~ Ghinger designer scissors are going for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Not that I would ever sell them if I was fortunate enough to own a pair.

I bought my first pair of Gingher scissors about four years ago. I love them and guard them ferociously. I’ve had Fiskars over the years, but one of my kids or my husband always seemed to get a hold of them and use them for something else and ruin them. Nobody gets NEAR my Ginghers!!
