Not counting the border blocks, I thought I was done with all the components to make Addie’s quilt.
There are 198 pieces there and only one had to be remade.
The seams weren’t quite right in the center and that would have bothered me so I re-did it.
Then I was looking at the instructions and realized I still have all these to make.
100 of those rascals! That will take forever. I’ve tried paper piecing, using special rulers and cutting all the little triangles. For these, since the white and orange have to be in the same spot (instead of white on the left on half and orange on the left on half), the easiest way for me to make them is simply cutting the triangles and sewing them together. I’ll make them a bit oversized so I can trim them down to perfection.
No use whining about it. Tomorrow I’ll sit down and start sewing these pieces. I checked my math again to be sure I really do have to make 100. Four per block, and 25 blocks. Yep, no matter how I calculate it . . I have to make 100.
But, that’s enough sewing for today. Vince is probably wondering if he’s getting dinner so I’d better do something besides sew.

That quilt will be wonderful. Can’t wait to see it finished. Addie will be so surprised. I use Essential Triangle tool for all HST and it is spot on. I cannot rave about it too much.

These are “partial” Quarter Square Triangles and it would be more trouble to use a ruler to make these work but yes, the Essential Triangle Tool works great for half square triangles.

You can knock those out pretty quickly, if your arm is okay.

I’m happy to see you sewing again and I love this quilt…very happy colors! Lucky Addie!!

Addie is going to love this! Hope your arm is not giving you trouble.

I’m loving it and I’m sure that Addie will!

Take a look at this video and see if it will help speed up the process.

That’s the way I do it. Some of the other ways with rulers and paper are much quicker but this is the only way I know of to not end up with mirror images.
