We got home from the doctor yesterday about 4. My arm still hurt but it wasn’t bad enough to even take OTC pain meds. I sliced two heads of cabbage for making kraut. I sliced potatoes and stirred up the starter for the salt rising bread, I mixed up the ingredients for strawberry ice cream and mae that in the little Cuisinart ice cream maker. My arm was doing great.
Then, about 10, I started knitting and knitted probably an hour. When I reached to put the recliner down . . my ar was hurting badly. VInce was already in bed. I didn’t think I was even going to be able to get my shirt off to take a shower. I should have taken something but I didn’t. I went to bed and barely slept and it takes a whole lot to keep me awake. This morning, we had breakfast, I took some OTC med that Vince gave me . . not sure if it was Motrin or Tylenol or what . . he keeps up with what works for what ailments. He put some kind of icy/hot type patch on my arm. I’m still in pain . . 2 hours later.
I will be laying off the knitting today. In fact, I think I’ll sit in my chair and read all day. Hurting is bad enough but not being able to do anything . . torture! I feel like I probably shouldn’t sew, even though I know I can’t cut or iron. I know I shouldn’t knit. I had hoped after getting two shots yesterday that I’d be so much better today but the doctor did say give it three days. Sunday or Monday . . keeping my fingers crossed!

Ugh I feel so bad! Try putting a patch where he also gave you the shots That’s what I did. I had lidocaine patches OTC .

It is a difficult decision to decide if we should keep moving with an injury or rest it.
Linda says
Did you get a cortisone shot for tendinitis? If so, I had that. When the lidocaine wears off from the shot it hurts really bad but then gets so much better in a few days. Rest, ice and Advil help a lot too. Hope you feel better quickly. It’s hard to slow down and rest for awhile.

So sorry about your arm! Sure hope it heals soon. Love your Walking on Clouds shawl and was wondering whether you have a secret way to sew in ends. That is one of my least favorite tasks.
Susan says
Well, darn. I’m still hoping it’s two days and not more!
Nelle Coursey says
OUCH!! Usually for me the second day is worse than the first.

If you’re looking for a couple good books – Beneath A Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan, Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, actually anything of hers is excellent and The Reunion by Samantha Hayes.
Take care and give that arm a rest:)

Try Blue-Emu ointment. It works great. I was a skeptic until I had pain in left hip last year!
