I had commented on your post about wanting to live near your son’s family. We just moved a little over a year ago to be by our son’s family (eldest son has four kids–youngest never married and no kids). We haven’t regretted a minute of it. When the youngest couldn’t wait to show us his first tooth that came out, we were hooked. We only live one house away and don’t see them every day, but it is so nice to know they are there. We have been able to help them and they help us. Without their help, I don’t know how we would have ever made the move. My advice, if you want to be by Addie, don’t wait much longer. The older you are, the harder it is to move. Add in finding new doctor, dentist, church, etc., it’s a lot to deal with. It is a big decision, but things really fell into place for us and I still feel it was God’s plan for us. My mother ended up alone in Arizona when my father passed and we didn’t want to repeat that history. We are all about creating memories so when we’re gone, they’ll know we loved them unconditionally. Good luck–the right decision for us may not be the right one for you!
