Everything I chose is on bolts so it all has to be washed before I can start the quilt. That’s ok . . I need some knitting time today anyway.
Look how pretty this stripe goes with the colors in the drawing.
For the most part, I don’t like to introduce a fabric in the border that hasn’t been used in main part of the top but I’m going to keep this fabric with this project and at the end, I’ll see what I think.
I’d love to use this for the backing.
But, if I use it, then I won’t have it any more! Decisions!

Kathy says
I am so excited to have you quilting again!
carolyn says
It’s wonderful to see you enthusiastic about fabric again!!! Enjoy!
Paula says
Would you have enough of the striped fabric to use it for backing? That beautiful green print would be lovely in the top.
Judy Laquidara says
No. I don’t like using stripes in the backing because it’s so hard to get and keep the stripes straight.
Paula says
This is true! Don’t know what I was thinking!

O Happy Day! Totally agree with all comments about how fun it is to follow you down there in Texas. I do so love all your quilts and I have all your books. I love the new quilt design and it looks perfect for Addie. I will be with you either way but I hope the mojo stays.
Judy Laquidara says
We’ll see . . one day at a time.
Carolyn says
It’s adorable, and don’t worry about perfection…
Cindi says
You will still have the green fabric, it will just be keeping your granddaughter warm at night instead of sitting on a shelf.
Judy Laquidara says
Great point!
Sue Edberg says
I think the strip fabric would make a nice outer border, especially if you made that outer border a little wider.
Donna says
How about using the stripe for the border and for a bias binding so that it would be used more than once in the quilt. I love a striped bias binding and the colors are perfect for what you’ve chosen. Just my suggestion. Going to be gorgeous!
Frieda Z says
I say use it up. Who better than Addie to use it for. 🙂
Jackie says
I love binding made out of striped fabric!
Bon says
I love the fabric choices. I knew you would have enough in your stash.
Mary says
I love the stripe and colors. How about using some of the stripe to make a few star blocks. Just a few to sprinkle across the quilt and then use it for the border.
Nelle Coursey says
Great choices of fabric.
Melissa Raddetz says
Rainbow sherbet! I love the colors, the pattern and your enthusiasm!
dezertsuz says
What if you used the stripes like a modern quilt backing? Maybe made the main piece diagonal one way and then the corner triangles diagonal the other way? Then you could bind it in your green maybe, and pull those center greens out to the edge. Don’t you love how we all have suggestions for you, and you never asked. LOL We can’t resist playing with your fabrics!
Dianne says
Love the stripes!
Donna says
How about making another quilt for Chad too before you sell your machine and Nicole needs a new one too. That ought to get your mojo going real strong again and help you empty the fabric shelves.
Penny says
Wow! Love the fabric/colors! Addie’s quilt is going to be beautiful!

l am holding my breath
and praying the quilt mojo stops hovering and lands on your shoulder and shouts in your ear.l discovered your site after you had stopped quilting, but became addicted to you and your life, so very different from mine here in the UK, l fell in love with your quilts and watching you quilt on You Tube something l am now struggling with on a sweet 16 . l just love the quilt you have designed and think the colours shout your granddaughter Addie’s name.l have 4 grandsons so these are not familiar colours in my stash.
Thank you for letting me share your world and may the mojo be with you

Judy-I love seeing that you are getting interested in quilting again!!!! Have always loved your patterns and have several of your books. I love following your knitting progress, too, but I don’t knit.
Kristin says
Your fabrics look great! I actually had (have?) that orange stripe. It was one of those fabrics that there was always hunks of it in my scrap bin, so it made its way into many of my quilts. I’m not sure if there are any bits left? As for the backing fabric….USE IT! You will be happy to see it on the quilt. And if you give it to Addie, she’s going to love it everytime she snuggles under it.
