Even though it’s summer and hot as heck here, and soup is favored more during colder weather, this zuppa toscana was delicious! That’s a soup I get often at Olive Garden and this recipe was the best I’ve ever had .. at home or in a restaurant. It was quick and easy to make. I did use hot Italian Sausage and left out the red pepper flakes.
You may want to try this recipe . . now or when it gets cooler. I’m sure the heavy cream wasn’t so healthy and was probably what made it so delicious. It was really, really good!

A Maya Wilson recipe! She’s a great food blogger living not too far from here. Love her recipes, and if you follow her on Instagram (@alaskafromscratch), she posts great photos of local Alaskan sights.

I could eat soup every day, no matter the temperature.

Yesterday as I was eating that soup, I was thinking the same thing. I wonder why we associate soup with being more of a cold weather food. It goes down easy, isn’t usually heavy. At the end of a day of working out in the heat, I think soup is a much better choice than steak, baked potato and bread!

I LOVE that stuff and usually make a huge pot of it and freeze so I can have it whenever I want. But it IS better with the OG breadsticks IMO (and I don’t make those)! LOL

I used to love Olive Garden’s breadsticks but now, they taste frozen and re-heated to me and I usually pass on their bread but Olive Garden is nowhere near the top of my favorite places to eat.

is this the crock pot recipe off Facebook? I want to try it!
Judy Laquidara says
No. The recipe link is in the blog post. It only takes about 10 minutes to make so I wouldn’t bother with a crockpot.
