Our big fig tree is so late getting ripe this year. Usually by June 1, the figs are starting to look ripe and by the middle of June, I’m getting figs. This year, the Black Mission tree is just loaded with figs but they aren’t even thinking about getting ripe.
This year, we should have more figs than we’ve ever had but . . like all other fruit, don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Grasshoppers, birds, possums . . lots of critters out there wanting figs.
Even our little Brown Turkey tree has quite a few figs this year.
And, the next peach tree to get ripe is soon going to have ripe peaches.
Summertime is a yummy time around here.

I love figs too, but I am the only one in my house that does. I don’t like them any other way other than fresh off the tree to eat or in Fig Newtons! LOL I love Peaches and peach cobbler!!! I always wait until Cullen gets them from Weatherford before I buy any.

I’m crossing my fingers for you to have lots of figs and peaches!

It’s far more work than I can handle right now, but the fruits of your labors in the garden are inspiring!
