This afternoon as I was continuing to search for a 3.25 mm needle, I opened a knitting bag and not only did I find a set of 3.25 mm needles that were not in a project but I found this:
This is the one I bought in about 2004 and it has ALL my old songs from my CDs, as well as about 30 Audible books, and I’ve never listened to most of them. This old iPod is associated with some ancient iTunes account and I have no idea what my login name/password might have been, nor what email address I was using, nor what phone number we had so it’s pretty much stuck with whatever is on it unless I want to wipe it and lose all that great music . . which I don’t want to do. The rest of my iPods have the same music from my current iTunes account so I’m really glad to find this old thing.
About the only thing that I know I’m missing right now and can’t find are . . those cookie molds. Some day I’m going to find them and when I do, I’m never letting them out of my sight again.

I think you need to label all of your knitting bags and if they are just plastic bags, then go into your sewing room with all of that great fabric and make some totes. You have made a spreadsheet listing your yarns, why don’t you have a #, project, needles, location. You could make them specific colors to help track them, or use a quilt block on the side, or make a number block to help in ID. And while you are sewing, make some of those hanging neck pouches that you can stick the ipod in and then put hangers all over the place. I have a few from quilt retreats and use them for going to shows where I don’t want to carry a purse.
A while back, I got a bunch of shoe-size plastic boxes and put my quilting projects in them. They are still stacked, but I do have a list (or used to about 1-2 laptop ago – dang, I forgot to upgrade some files and now I can’t read them.)
I actually have a few old recipe boxes where I keep track of food, stuff, house projects, etc. They are on index cards, but it is easier for me to track what I want to do. And they are something I can play with when the power is out. I started the system when I started preparing for storms and I needed to know where something was since power was out. Oops, it is May and I need to refresh the storm supplies card. A friend reported she cleaned up the storm shelter, got fresh water and is looking for cheap chairs to sit on in the shelter. She also got a Wizard of Oz poster and mentioned she needs to hang it up in the shelter.
I also found that I need to make sure that I put things in the same place – the keys, purse, phone. And I still lose the cell phone every now and then. And then when I remember it, it is drained down and I can’t call it. Then it is a check of all pockets of stuff that I wore… I can relate to losing things….
Stay safe with the upcoming stormy weather…. May 3rd is around the corner ( the first time I was really nervous about storms in OK).
