Liquid Gold is such a fun pattern to knit . . if you love cables. I have the first 40 or so rows pretty much memorized. I swatched that far using one color of Madelinetosh TML. The color variations were too busy for the pattern. Ripped that out. Swatched using a gray Twist Light. Wasn’t crazy about the color. It just looked too boring for this pattern. Ripped that out. Swatched with TML in Tybee Island Inn.
The pattern recommends 4.0 mm needles. I’ve done this much with 3.5 mm. I think I’d like it better with 3.25 or maybe even 3 mm. Do you think I can find a 3 or 3.25? Nope. Cannot even find one that’s in a project but I haven’t looked in every single project bag. I gave up and ordered more needles. I’ll just knit on something else til the new needles arrive.
What do you think . . too loose or not too loose? I think . . too loose!

I think it’s gorgeous as is but I don’t knit so I don’t know what you’re talking about when you say too loose or not. Not much help was I?

That’s going to be very soft and pretty! I agree (as a non-knitter) that it looks a bit loose. But don’t you hate waiting for the new needles when you’re all ready to go? Gee, maybe if you had something else… (haha)

I like the color and agree that it is too loose – I would be snagging some of those parts on everything!
One of thee days, I’ll start knitting, but I still have to much fabric to use!

I like it, but you are the pro at this. If you think it is too loose, then it is too loose. You will never be satisfied until you get it the way you want it to look.

Loose is a matter of person preference, so you’re on your own there… but I do love Tybee Island! 🙂 We lived in Florida for a couple of years and would meet my brother and sister-in-law there for holidays. We had great turkey sandwiches one year for Thanksgiving! 🙂 So happy you found your iPod with the classics. Driving will be much more enjoyable.
