One of the things I have to get over is this kind of thinking . . I love this yarn but if I use it, it will no longer be in my stash! That’s one of the reasons I keep buying yarn . . just to keep from using the yarn I have and love.
You already know my attraction to dachshunds and you know the story about old Speck so, even though I 100% love this yarn and I love the memories of old Speck, it makes me kinda sad using this yarn. I’ll get over it and I think it’s going to be perfect for the Winterfell cardigan.
One skein has a bit more purple than the others but I don’t believe there will be significant pooling and even with the mottled color of the yarn, the texture/design seems to show up just fine.
The Madelinetosh Mad May begins May 1 so now I need to wind the rest of the yarn and be ready to go on May 1.

It’s going to be gorgeous in that sweater.

If. You make a sweater, you can wrap up in it but if you leave in the skein, you can only look at it.
Remember if you go first, what will Vince or Chad do with it?
Rebecca in SoCal says
That’s pretty much what I was thinking…what good is having it other than to look at and pet it?
That’s a rather chilling question pandrpeele asks!

Some of us are like that about fabric. That’s why we have more than we can ever use before we die. We should use it because our kids will just donate it to Good Will or sell it for pennies on the dollar at a garage sale after we’re gone. Actually my daughter says she’s going to get a guy with a backhoe come dig a big hole and she’s throwing all our crap into it and having it covered up.

Every time you wear this you can think of Speck and have him wrapped around you!

Again, you bring out a beautiful yarn! Use it. You will love the result. Like Linda in NE, I have a problem (addiction?) with fabric. Friends tell me ‘they will make more fabric’! I do love ‘shopping my stash’ but I keep finding fabric that I really, really like!! 🙂 Dachshund is lovely, don’t let it wait any longer to become a favorite item of clothing.

I really love the Dashound yarn….BEAUTIFUL…

This reminds me of an episode of M.A.S.H. where the doctors needed an incubator and finally located one at a supply depot. The man in charge would not let them have it because if he did he “would only have one in inventory, and one is not as good as two.”

That is really pretty. Love all the vacation post too by the way. You will find your dream house someday. But I’m glad you found Texas. All those years of me telling you this place is the place to live. We have everything and I do mean everything. Including great people.
Joyce in Oregon says
Judy, the yarn WILL still be in your stash — your stash of beautiful clothes that you’ve knit. Doesn’t mean you have to wear it out soon. Once you get enough cardigans, sweaters, etc. made, you’ll have enough in rotation that they’ll never wear out! Unless, of course, you move to a state with more of a winter. 🙂 🙂 🙂 I still wear a polyester sweater that was my mother’s and every time I do I feel wrapped in her love. I’m making my daughter a pair of socks so she can feel me close when while we live 2000 miles apart. Enjoy the hours of knitting your stash and know you won’t have to pack and move all of it again.
