The past month or so, I have been so blessed by receiving two amazing gifts of yarn. The first was from a friend who decided she much preferred quilting to knitting and sent me a huge box of yarn. She had only told me that she was sending me a surprise and I was shocked when I opened the box because (1) it was huge and (2) it was top quality name brand yarn.
I mentioned it already but a couple of weeks ago a friend told me that she had some yarn she was going to give me. I didn’t know much about it so I tried not to get my hopes up. I had a trip planned to near where she lives so I would get my yarn upon arrival.
When I got there, I was bringing stuff in from the car. I was staying a week so I had a lot (a LOT!) of knitting projects, mostly in grocery sacks. I walked into the bedroom and found this.
I thought . . Girl, you are tired! I didn’t even remember bringing my knitting projects into the bedroom. Then, I went back to the car to get more and there were all my knitting bags still in the car. It was then that I remembered that the yarn was the gifted yarn from my friend. I RAN back into the bedroom. It is all . . every skein of it . . amazing!
Some of it, like the one shown below, there are four or five skeins . . enough to make sweaters!
It is so gorgeous. I am here for a week . . without a swift or a winder. I was tempted to get on Amazon and order one and have it sent here but then I figured I’d just knit what I brought with me and spend some of my time fondling this new yarn and dreaming about what I can make with it.
I am a very, very thankful knitter!

And a lucky one! You will make beautiful things with this yarn and every time you wear it you will think of her! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

There’s a lot to be said for fondling and dreaming about yarn and the possibilities said the woman who came home with four new yarns yesterday. Enjoy!

Wow! Lucky you!! When people give me yarn, it’s always “Grandma’s old stuff that I inherited and I thought of you”. It inevitably turns out to be scratchy Red Heart…LOL

A few years ago someone gave my brother a garbage bag of crochet cotton because I crochet. Yes I have used and used it and been thankful for it.
