When I had to rip back all the knitting I’d done on the shawl the other day, I said to myself . . I’ll like it better on smaller needles and with a color change and that took away the frustration of about 4 days of knitting being unraveled. Sometimes, trying to put a positive spin on things makes it easier to deal with something that otherwise would be aggravating. By looking at it as “This is going to be better!” instead of “This was a huge waste of time!”, I was anxious to get started again and see how things developed. Here’s about the same point with the older colors:
New colors and smaller needles:
The new blue – the medium – I haven’t used the darker one yet, is so pretty. I love it. In fact, I’ve looked at ordering more because now that I’m using it, I won’t have it in my stash but that’s no way to stashbust, is it? If I replace every skein of yarn I love, I’ll never make much progress! But . . if I just replace those I REALLY love . . nope . . that’s not allowed! 🙂

I liked the old one and didn’t understand why you didn’t but now seeing the new one I love it and see the difference. I also admire how you can so freely pull out your work. Very nice…

Following your example, last night I frogged a whole finished shawl. Loved it, loved the yarn, but it turned out so big and long I would only wear it on the coldest, winter day ever. Thought that was such a waste. I felt like I was losing time ripping it out, it took a long time to knit. Now, however, I’m reworking the yarn thinking it was a smart move to make something I will love to wear out of yarn that I loved using.
