Remember this morning when I thought for sure my litchi tomato was a goner?
This afternoon when I went out to take care of the chickens, it had perked up and didn’t look half bad.
I dug a hole, used some of Vince’s thick leather gloves to keep the thorns from hurting so bad, and planted it in the ground. I’ve never planted much in that area but the soil seems very rich. I’m sure the pH is way too high but at least the dirt looked very nice. We’ll see how it grows there. The chickens are on the other side of that pipe fence and if it spread out that direction, it won’t do so well. They peck on everything and ruin whatever they can reach. I think I planted it far enough from the fence and I Put a stake in the ground to keep it from flopping over but . . we’ll see how it does.
