I’m happy to report that results of all my routine tests are in and it looks like I’m good to go for another few years. Got the mammogram results today and that’s good. Earlier this week I got the result of the polyp that was removed during the 10 year routine colonoscopy. My gastro PA said the results showed it was “some kind” of polyp. She knew what it was and said, but I can’t remember. She said she had never seen that type polyp turn malignant. it was removed and now I have to have a colonoscopy every 5 years instead of every 10 years. Still not bad since those colonoscopies really seem to save lives and the prep isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be and next time, I’ll make sure I have a bowl near the bed and Vince won’t have to figure out where I keep bowls! Anyone want to bet whether or not we’ll be still here in 5 years? My bet goes on NO! 🙂
The thyroid scan wasn’t so routine and it wasn’t bad but wasn’t “all clear”. There is a nodule but it’s too small to biopsy so I have to have another scan in 6 months.
Normally, when I have a mammogram, I am nervous waiting for the results. Instead of going to the Brownwood mammo place, I went to Comanche and they had to get my older films from Brownwood so it took a bit longer for my results but with everything going on with Vince, I hardly thought about my mammogram results. Glad to have that behind me.
Now, if we can just get Vince healthy, and get Rita’s eyes done and her recovered, I think we’ll be in good shape around here.
Even with Vince’s health scare, we’re both blessed to have the good health we have.

Back in the late 80’s, my DH had a thyroid scan and the stupid internist called him and told him he had thyroid cancer OVER THE PHONE!!! She told him he needed to schedule surgery right away so he did and I was a NERVOUS WRECK! After surgery, the doc came out and said everything went well, no cancer and he might have a raspy voice for awhile but was no biggy. He was closed with staples (not common back then) and those came out 3 days after surgery. I was afraid the incision would pop open whenever he turned his head they came out so quick. But I was REALLY mad at the internist (altho if you have to get cancer, they say thyroid is a ‘good’ one to get as nothing hardly ever gets bad with it).

Getting all those annual tests are so nerve wracking and such a blessing when they are over until “next year”.

It’s good to get all the tests over with! I was at the dentist this week, and happy to report no cavities. I have a dread of needles in my mouth, so I don’t look forward to trips to the dentist!
