The notebook sits right next to my chair. I knit a while, I scan email, look at new patterns on Ravelry, look at new yarns at The Loopy Ewe or Eat, Sleep, Knit. Several designers have “Easter Egg Hunts” with cute little egg graphics hidden in their patterns. I’m waiting for the next one to post for Romi (Rosemary Hill) Designs.
I need to be out in the garden. That will be the theme of my blog posts for the next three or four months! I should be in the garden – watering, or weeding, or fertilizing! But, in 10 minutes, Romi’s eggs will appear on patterns and I might win something fun! 🙂
All I have to do in the garden this evening is water the newly planted tomatoes and elderberries. The forecast says no rain but it’s been overcast so I keep hoping it will rain . . a slow, gentle rain that would be so useful to newly transplanted plants. It isn’t going to happen. It’s going to be me and my water hose.
I left the solar well going in the orchard. I need to go turn it off but with it being so overcast, it isn’t producing now. Just hope I don’t forget that it’s on because I have to go to Abilene to the doctor tomorrow and I’d hate for it to run all day on two trees!
Seven minutes til the hidden eggs appear. Can’t do anything constructive in 7 minutes, right?
I did find this adorable free pattern – Frohe Ostern. Look like it would be great for fingering weight leftovers. It’s in German only but I think Google might can help me translate it. After all, it’s just mitts!
Vince seems to be on a knife/knife sharpener hang up these days. One more video on knives or sharpeners and . . I will go out and do my chores! 🙂
I found a really, really nice house with nice land this morning in MO. I got all excited about it. I keep trying to explain to Vince that even though you have to pay state income tax in MO, the houses are so much less expensive in the areas where we’re looking. I sent him a link to the house and he seemed impressed. He said “If it’s still for sale the next time we go, we can see it.” Just before I began jumping for joy, because all he ever says about moving to MO is “I am NEVER moving back there!” . . I noticed it said “Sale Pending”! Darn it.
OK . . eggs are about to drop. Wish me luck getting a prize! 🙂

I figured there must be some special sale or something going on with the Romi patterns today since they are all at the beginning of the hot right now list.

I’m intrigued about your solar well. I will have to google it as I am not familiar with one at all. BTW — just a reminder – don’t forget to turn it off. Happy Easter to you and Vince!

Judy I know well what you are going through. I’ve been looking at smaller houses for us for two years. The one we raised our four children in is too large for us now and we have 40 years of accumulated stuff in it. I’ve heard every reason under the sun while I was looking that this one or that one wouldn’t be right. Fourteen days ago a house that my daughter had urged me to look at 2 years ago when the price was lower was up for sale again. I mentioned it once again to him and he said wouldn’t we be crowding our daughter? She lives right across the street from this house. So I sighed again turned away from it. Monday my husband suffered a bad fall while standing by the car and reaching for the passenger door handle. His head hit the concrete hard and he broke the second clavicle. Probably spelling it wrong. His head is now cradled a neck brace. He’s been labeled a High risk for falling. May still need surgery to help it heal if the next three weeks don’t show any progress. His bed has an alarm so it will notify the nurses if he tries to get up as does his wheel chair and one on his person. I stayed at the hospital for three nights before they sent him to in patient rehab. That night I realized in the middle of the night that our home will not work for either of us if we are confined to a wheel chair for the rest of our lives and I strongly suspect he will be. We have a tiny bathroom in the middle of the house. He’s had one fall in the bathroom while shaving and fell backward into the tub. You have to angle in between it and the closet to get to it and then to go to our bedroom you have to go out the other door and angle toward our bedroom. It also has 3 steep steps to go out front or back door. So the next day I asked to look at that house across from our daughter. It has a level side entrance from the driveway and a sitting area just outside that door where he could go to enjoy being outside. The whole house has wide doors and it’s all on one floor. Made an offer that day and I close on the 16th. With any luck once the inspection is done we can close even sooner. I have not told him and do not intend to. With any luck I can have us moved in before he is released from rehab. That money is no good sitting in the bank if it means he’ll be sent to a nursing home because our house won’t work. That money would be drained by a nursing home before we could say boo. Good luck with your house hunt.

Best Wishes going out your way!! We had to empty our big house and move into a small rental (job loss) and Oh! it was such a hassle. How WONDERFUL that you will be near your daughter, all on one floor, with space to sit outside!!! Just keep the unnecessary stuff going out to Goodwill and Salvation Army and thrift stores. Other people can use it. I admire you for doing this all on your own!!
