(Written by Vince last night)
Hello Everyone,
I took a nice long nap this afternoon and I feel pretty good. Also, Judy made some scallop pasta tonight and that made me feel even better. It was our Saturday night treat . . not something we’re eating daily. We just finished watching another documentary called “Fully Charged” and it was inspirational about making positive changes to your life to get the most enjoyment from it. It even had some scenes shot in Clemson, SC. Speaking of Clemson, they came back to give Kansas a scare Friday, but unfortunately, they ran out of time. Still, it was a great year for Clemson getting to the NCAA playoffs in football, basketball and baseball this year.
On the health front, I was accepted to Cardio Rehab this week and will start the program as soon as they establish my baseline to start exercising. I am looking forward to building back some stamina. I feel like I have been a couch potato more than usual.
Oh my, Judy, the night owl, just said she is going to bed! Unheard at this time of night. I guess she was paying attention to what she learned in the documentary. Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Well I guess I will have to keep up with her and sign off for now. As my daddy always said, Sleep is a good thing!
Notes from Judy: Yes, I am the night owl and I rarely sleep more than 6 hours per night, but it’s a good hard 6 hours. I almost never wake up during the night. Here’s what happened Friday night that had me in bed early last night. I always take a Yeti cup of ice water to bed with me. I’ll read for a while and drink maybe half of it. I don’t usually wake up during the night but if I do, I want a sip of water. So, Friday night, I fixed my water, got sidetracked, got in bed and realized I didn’t have my water. I said “I’m not getting up”. About 1:00 a.m., I woke up . . mainly because I probably knew I didn’t have my water, got up to retrieve my water, and Rita decided she was going to sleep in our bed. No dogs in the bed! She scratched on the door and made noise til I got up and got in the other bed with her. I don’t want a dog in our bed but I do want to sleep. She woke up at 3:30 and wanted to go out so we went out. She woke up at 5 and wanted to go out again so I took her out and then put her back in her bed in the living room. I went back to sleep and slept til about 7 but I’m not used to getting so many interruptions during the night. I was tired early last night so I went to bed a little after 10. Yes, unusual for me but I listen to my body and when it says “Sleep!”, I sleep.
Since Rita is blind, she relied a lot of her sense of hearing. She hears noises outside during the night. There are all kinds of critters passing through and sometimes they’re up on the porch or right outside the bedroom window making noise. She hears them and she wants to go outside. I never know if she really needs to go do her business or she wants to go out and investigate. Most often, she wants to investigate but, when she says she wants to go out, I’m not taking any chances. I don’t know if when she’s sleeping on her bed in the living room, if she walks around during the night or not. Maybe she doesn’t sleep well when she’s sleeping with me . . I know I can’t sleep worth a darn with a dog in the bed. That’s not happening again!
OK . . I hijacked Vince’s post. Sorry!

Speaking of basketball, I was hoping both Kansas teams would not make it to the final 4 – that didn’t happen but I really enjoyed watching the Loyola games. That team really has heart – I hope they make it to the championship game. Glad you’re feeling better – Bob really liked the Cardiac Rehab – unfortunately it doesn’t go on forever:)

LOL You two are so good for each other! Be careful going out at night, you never know what is out there when you live in the country. Even in town. We have a lot of skunks around here. Remind me to tell you about the time our dog was sprayed around midnight and decided to jump in bed with me!!!
