Yes, I love knitting yarn but there is a yarn company called Love Knitting and I am convinced I am going to love their yarn! Recently I had an opportunity to try some of their “exclusive” yarn, which includes:
Of course, they have other familiar brands of yarn but I think where the “value” really shines is in their exclusive yarns.
Reflection is a shawl I’ve been wanting to make. It’s a fairly basic, fairly warm but not too heavy shawl and one I thought would be great for carrying into cold restaurants or theaters or doctor’s offices. It calls for sport weight yarn and I have very little sport weight yarn so I chose MillaMia’s Naturally Soft Merino. It’s 100% Virgin Wool and it is made in Italy! How can my Italian husband complain about my yarn if it’s made in Italy?
As soon as the mail lady delivered it, I had to cast on my Reflections shawl.
I know you cannot “see” how soft this yarn is but it is so soft. I really want to knit something that will be worn next to my skin and I’m thinking . . sweater! I do have a sweater pattern picked out and, according to the gauge listed on the yarn band, this yarn would be perfect!
Before choosing the Naturally Soft Merino, I read reviews and it has a LOT of reviews on the Love Knitting site, as well as on Ravelry. People who use it seem to love it. One of the comments I kept seeing is that it lasts! It doesn’t pill easily. That really matters to me. While I can’t speak from experience, until this project is finished and worn a few times, I’m hopeful that it will not pill easily.
Again, it’s hard to show some things in photos but I hope you can see how tightly twisted the plies are, and how round the yarn is. It’s tight, right and very bouncy. I think it will knit up and be exceptional for showing stitch definition.
As far as Love Knitting (the shop), they offer free shipping on orders over $60 and their website states “Free & Easy Returns – Hassle-Free Guarantee“. I have never returned yarn but it is nice to know that it’s hassle free if ever I needed to return it. There are some limitations so you may want to check that out before ordering but I’m happy with my yarn and don’t anticipate ever needing to return anything to them.
So, for you knitters out there, I’d recommend you check out their yarn selection but especially the exclusive yarns mentioned above.

I don’t think the “made in Italy” will fly with Vince since the label says Sweden…..But the color is beautiful! Wish I could feel the softness.

I like them ok, but I think Wool Warehouse in Great Britain is better, cheaper and actually ship just as quickly. Many of the products you order at Love KNitting do come from Great Britain.

Love Knitting does have a U. S. presence so for those that order in the U. S., our packages are being shipped within the country and get to us without going through customs. I have not ordered from Wool Warehouse but am quite pleased with Love Knitting.
