The search for yarn for Rose Cardigan has ended, at least for a while, and I’m back to knitting. I picked up Gardens of Giverny Stole that was started in December, and promptly put aside for another project. If someone had asked me, I would have sworn I hadn’t touched this project in six months but since it was only three months ago that I started it . . proof that my memory is gone!
I had four of the lacy rows done when I picked it up this afternoon and got four more done this evening so I guess it goes pretty fast. It’s fun to do. You can’t tell much about it yet but once it’s blocked, the lace work opens up and it’s very pretty.
A bit of a close up of the lace . . still doesn’t show much but once it’s finished and blocked, it will be so pretty! I probably have about 10″ done and I think I read that blocked, it’s close to 70″ long. I’m guessing . . purely guessing . . that I will do 40 – 45 lace sections. The instructions say to do them til you’re near the end of the skein of contrast color. So, if I got four lace sections done tonight, I could finish this in 10 days if that’s all I work on. I can’t do that . . I get bored with one project but, I could get this finished by the end of April . . but I didn’t say what year! 🙂
