We’ve been doing great with our healthy eating. We’ve had oatmeal and turkey bacon every morning for over a week. Yesterday we had errands to run and Vince had to go to the doctor and we ran by Chick-Fil-A and got grilled chicken pieces. I really wanted fried chicken but didn’t get it.
Last night was Vince’s sleep study so I was home alone. I was busy doing things and never even ate dinner. Vince stopped and got breakfast on the way home and he needed to go get a prescription re-filled so we ran to town. He said “Do you want to splurge and have fish at Cotton Patch? Yes! I love fried fish. We got there about 1:30 so it was after the main lunch rush. We had fried fish, baked squash and steamed broccoli. It wasn’t the best heart healthy meal but it could have been worse.
We were busy talking and not even paying attention to how long it was taking for our food and then the manager came out and said they had a problem with the fryer but it was fixed and our food would soon be up and they weren’t charging us anything because it had taken so long. Our lunch was free . . totally free. We left our server a nice tip but it as so considerate of the manager to do that without us even complaining that our food was taking too long!
Back on our heart healthy diet now.

Judy Laquidara says
No, unless it’s somewhere that has amazing bread, I never eat bread out. They brought corn muffins but I don’t eat cornbread.

Well, at least fish is healthy for you, so there had to be some benefit under the frying! =) He was a nice manager.
