Weather Underground

Some days . . most days . . I bite my tongue in the interest of avoiding a ruckus around here. It was towards the end of February that we got our little weather station and Vince installed it. I immediately did all the online stuff but never could get our station to communicate with Weather Underground. If it’s more than turning on a computer, it’s totally over my head so after a few days of Weather Underground saying our station was “not communicating”, I asked Vince if he would see what he could do. Vince can fix anything on a computer. He can make everything work . . and he does it easily. I know he’s had a lot going on but . . make the weather station communicate with Weather Underground . . that should not be stressful for him. Every day I say “If you get a chance, would you see what you can do with the weather station and Weather Underground?

This morning .. just as I’m trying to get out the door to go to knitting, I hear him on the phone with someone and then he says “Can you talk to my wife? She knows more about this than I do?” What the heck? I don’t know anything!! So, he hands me his phone. I’m on the computer looking up my settings at Weather Underground, then I’m on his phone and the app is on my phone so I’m working three gadgets at once but . . in the end, whatever the guy told me worked because our weather station is now talking to Weather Underground!

Just in case anyone out there is a weather nerd like I am, and you want to see exactly what’s happening with the weather at our house, our weather station is now online. Our station ID is TXBROWN37. I think the best way to get there is to go to Weather Underground, search for Brownwood, TX. We’re station “37” and our name is VDL.

Now, when you wake up in the morning and your very first thought is . . I wonder what the weather is like at Judy’s house . . you can find out!  🙂

Our weather should be pretty uneventful for a while .. maybe a spring storm or two but come July through September, you can watch us bake down here in the heat.
