If I had to do it, I could knit without Knit Companion but I’m not sure I’d want to knit without Knit Companion. Monday I noticed on my iPad that there was an update to Knit Companion but as I looked more closely at it, it looked a bit different so I went to the Knit Companion Group on Ravelry and found that there was a whole new “re-invent” for Knit Companion called “NextGen”. I told myself that I had too much to do .. not to mention Vince being home and trying to figure out a new software while he’s talking to me would be frustrating so my plan was to wait til after Vince went to bed and the TV was off so as to have enough bandwidth to download anything before even looking at it.
It was about 10 p.m. when I started reading more on Ravelry and downloading the new version.
It didn’t take long to get the new version loaded on the mini iPad and on the big iPad. Then I began reading about all the changes and updates. At 1:30 a.m., I made myself put the iPads down and go to bed. At 4 a.m., Rita heard something outside so I got up to investigate and found some video tutorials on the Create2Thrive website and began watching those. Somewhere before 6, I fell back asleep. Sometime around 7, Vince was up and that’s when everyone gets up! I think I’ve been running on Knit Companion induced adrenalin today. I cannot wait to go to bed with the 31 page tutorial I printed.
I can’t even tell you what all is new but there’s a lot, much of it has to do with easier setup, easier manipulation of markers and counters. I’m pretty excited about it . . the dark circles under my eyes prove it! 🙂
