Our peach trees have low branches and yesterday, I saw the chickens jumping up and eating the lower blossoms. Not only do they eat our apples, but they’re causing us to have less peaches but I guess chickens have to have yummy snacks too.
Yesterday while out watering the fruit trees, even though the wind was really blowing, I was able to get some good blossom pictures.
The apple blossoms are some of the prettiest ones we have.
The cherries are just starting to bloom. I’d be thrilled if I could get enough to make one batch of cherry jam.
Even the prickly agarita are blooming.
The rosemary is full of blooms and bees. Even as much as I love rosemary, I’m not sure I would want honey from rosemary blossoms but . . you never know.
The fig doesn’t bloom but I see promise of new growth. I was a bit concerned after having several nights in the low single digits but it looks like they’re going to be just fine.
I spend way too much time walking around looking for new growth this time of year but it’s so exciting!

While watching the snow flakes fall (enough already) it’s nice to see your trees blossoming. Our cherry tree had to be cut down last year, it was leaning and more so each year. When they cut it down and we looked at the trunk only the outer back was healthy the rest rotten. One good wind and it would have split.

Those are beautiful photos. What camera did you use? Springtime is such a wonderful time of new beginnings!

I love all the flowers of spring! I have a few early daffodils blooming, and my star magnolia is just beginning to bloom. I can’t wait for the rest of my flowers to start blooming!

We listen to Jan Hubbard (formally Hardwick as in Hardwick’s Nursery) and she as Jan Jan’s Nursery in Rising Star. She is a horticulturist and she said if there is a chance of a freeze, you should water the tree limbs so if it freezes, it will be a wet freeze. She happens to be my cousin. She comes on the air on Thursday’s during the Spring growing season. She has a lot of good tips. It is on KOXE at 9 am. (101.3) You can call in and ask questions. I have not been in her shop but everyone who has says it is great.
