I’ll be the first to admit that I have a healthy yarn stash but it makes me feel really good to know that I can make pretty much anything I want to make from this day forward, no matter how long “forward” might be, and even though I might have to order a skein here and a skein there, most everything can be made from my stash.
Bronwyn is a sweater that’s been on my radar for a long time. It looks challenging but it looks amazing. I knew I had plenty of stash yarn options. I wanted to use more of a rustic wool vs. a superwash wool. Even though the pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, I love a project someone made using Blue Sky Woolstok in Earth Ivy, which is that icky shade of green that I love. I have Woolstock in sufficient quantity in a blue gray and a light gray but my heart was set on that limey/gold/green. A quick browse through my yarn spreadsheet revealed that I have something that would work.
This is Blue Moon’s Targhee Worsted and the color is Spawn of Scum. Perfect! This is more yarn purchased in 2015. Even more perfect. I love buying yarn but I also love using stash yarn.
This is a project I probably won’t start til towards the end of summer. I need to get some things finished so I can give this my 100% attention. Stopping and starting a project like this will only result in frustration and problems so until I am confident I can give it my undivided attention for a month or so, it will all be tucked into a project bag and wait patiently for me. Getting to start on this may be the inspiration I need to get some things finished.
