This afternoon, I needed to order one skein of yarn to go with some yarn to make a sweater. I’ll do another post about that but I told Vince . . I have to order one skein of yarn and I explained it all to Vince.
Vince: All those tubs of yarn and you don’t have one skein you can use?
Me: Nope . . I have the right color but it’s the wrong weight.
Vince: If you order this one, that means you’ve only ordered one skein of yarn in March?
Me: Well . . from this day til the end of March.
Vince: So, you’ve already ordered yarn this month?
Me: Yep!
How it came about that I needed yarn is that I want to make this sweater (Zweig) for my third quarter ESK Knit-Along. The challenge for the third quarter is to make something using ESK Exclusive Colors. They’ve been having those as monthly colors for several years and any of them will work. I can extra stars for using at least 300 yards of two different Exclusive Colors so the Zweig pullover is perfect. I have six skeins of Madelinetosh Twist Light in “The Fox” from 2015. I have a skein from January of Blue Moon’s Socks that Rock Mediumweight in She Shells Seashells but that’s too heavy to go with the Twist light so I ordered the same color in Featherlight.
The yarn in the center is also too heavy and that color is Gadgets and Gizmos but I like She Sells Seashells better but . I put it up before taking a picture.
Even though I had to order the contrasting yarn, I feel good that I’m able to use stash yarn for most of this project.

Pretty colors, I just got a skein of Blue Moon’s “Magical Mystery tour”, destined for a groovy pair of socks.

Blue Moon has some gorgeous colors and hilarous names. Your Magical Mystery Tour socks will be gorgeous and fun to wear.

I’m envious that you can wear pullover sweaters. I get too hot so make cardigans instead. Still need to knit my Hitofude. Bought beautiful green yarn to make it, I’ve just been too chicken to start!

Because we have so little winter, most places don’t use much heat and on some days, especially cloudy days, I’m cold in restaurants, in grocery stores, at our knitting group . . everywhere I go. I always have a shirt on under a pullover and if I get hot, I can yank that top layer off.
