Yesterday, on one of my many trips to town, VInce asked me to run by and get chicken feed. I drove up to Tractor Supply and saw this sign:
I had to sit in the car for a few minutes and have a heart to heart with myself. I almost called Vince to tell him I could not be allowed to go into Tractor Supply. When I got home, he asked me what kind of chicks they and and I told him . . truthfully . . I walked right past them and didn’t even look.
No baby chicks this year! We need to get rid of some of the big chickens. Yes, we have way too many chickens but I love them all.
Until Vince is better, it will probably be my responsibility to make the trips to Tractor Supply for chicken feed. That could be very dangerous!

Resistance is futile!! HA Really, I know you can do it..be strong! LOL
Liz says
Just curious, is Vince interested in getting the baby chicks?
I vaguely remember you writing that it takes a year or so before the chickens reliably lay eggs, so shouldn’t you be getting a few young ones every year to keep up the numbers that you want?
Susan says
Best of luck with resisting.

Yep resistance is futile … Tractor Supply is like our Ranch Rite and a few other places here. Tractor Supply came into our area about 3 years ago. I like it ….

A granddaughter works there. First day there it was baby goats she fell in love with.

As soon as I saw the heading I said to myself “oh no” this is bad who can pass by baby chicks? You can!!! I’m impressed.

Our orschlens caught fire Friday night. There might be a fire sale! They are moving anyway. Minimal damage. I hope the chicks survived.
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, no! Were they moving to a new location or leaving town. Sure hope the baby chicks were ok.
