Some of the elderberries I had ordered arrived Saturday. I wasn’t expecting them to be so big. They were bare root and I was thinking i’d plant them in a one gallon pot. I had gathered up all my pots and was headed towards the greenhouse. Vince said he would open the box and bring them over for me. When he opened the box, he said “I think you’re going to need bigger pots.” Oh, my . . they barely fit in the biggest pots I had. I had to scrunch and mash to get the roots into the pots. I guess I should have planted them directly in the ground or, better yet, read the instructions (which I still haven’t done).
Obviously, the lemons in the back are not elderberries!
I know I ordered some smaller plants so I guess they’ll arrive soon.
It was well after dark when I got finished in the greenhouse. No one was worried about me. The coyotes could have eaten me . . but they didn’t.
Spring had better get here quickly. The greenhouse is filling up. The tomatoes are beyond ready to plant in the ground. It won’t be long!

Do you think you’ll have any problems with birds eating the fruit right when it’s ripe? Hopefully not. They look like nice bare roots — will you share the nursery? They got to you quick!

What a great shot of your greenhouse. I’m thinking you are pretty excited about your elderberries!
