I do love a leisurely breakfast and that’s exactly what I intend to enjoy most once Vince retires. Monday mornings always seem hectic. We’ve had the weekend. We usually stay up too late on Sunday evening. Getting Vince out of the house can be . . what’s the word? Not intimidating, not frustrating but I usually just stay out of the way. He usually wants something quick on Monday morning and it’s most often a bowl of cereal and he wants to sit an eat without much chatter. Once he leaves, I fix my own breakfast. This was it yesterday.
That was so good. Those blueberries are as sweet as candy. Sometimes we get blueberries that are so sour, I truly cannot eat them by themselves. These blueberries are so sweet, I can’t stop eating them. When I eat a breakfast like this, I don’t usually get hungry for the rest of the day. I’m not saying I don’t eat again . . just saying I really could eat a couple of pieces of fruit throughout the day and wouldn’t need anything else.
I wish we could grow blueberries here. It would be a constant battle to keep the soil acid enough. We tried! We planted probably 15 or 20 blueberry plants, pampered and babied them and got just a few blueberries. Just not worth the amount of water it takes to keep them going. I do believe they will grow pretty easily in east Texas though. Some day . . maybe I’ll have blueberry plants of my own.

Don’t feel bad, I live in NJ, the blueberry capital, and I can’t grow them either! Right now I have two small bushes that have never done well. As soon as they get any berries the birds take them. So I buy my berries and let the birds eat the few I get from the bushes! They were very sour anyway…LOL

When I think of blueberries, I think of Maine and Oregon, which could hardly be more different growing conditions! It’s a good thing that you got such sweet ones.

That looks like a perfect breakfast … minus the blueberries. LOL They grow well here in E TN, and there’s lots of rain. My friend gets more blueberries than raspberries, though she gets a lot of those, too.
