I’ve reached a milestone!
The main part is finished and bound off. I love it and it fits perfectly! When making a sweater I always waffle between thinking it’s going to be huge and too small. I could have sworn this one was going to be huge and kept measuring and trying to convince myself it was going to be fine. Then I’d look at the measurements and think it might be too small but I am very happy with the fit.
The back is a little longer than the front and there’s a gentle curve. It’s kinda hard to tell from the photo but I’m glad I went ahead and followed the pattern and made the back longer.
I understand the concept of finishing a UFO means finishing a UFO but I need a break from this one. My guess is that the sleeves can be done in two days but I’m going to work on something else today and then maybe I’ll et the sleeves started tonight and then get started working on those tomorrow or Wednesday.
After trying this sweater on today, I’m so happy that I knit.

Looking good – how much is the front to back curve? Could you show a photo from the side? I’m wondering if this extra length is to avoid the sweater ride-up in the back and to avoid the air gap when you bend down. I think there are some polo-style shirts that always had a longer back length to avoid the gap.

Beautiful pattern and I love your color combination! Is there an earlier post telling what yarn you used? I’ve knit for years but haven’t done any sweaters for myself in a long time. How do you keep track of your rows and color changes. I used the old-fashioned way of paper and pencil back then.

That’s beautiful!! I learned to knit as a child, and even in my late teens knit an afghan with a four-color design on it. I hardly ever knit anymore, and the last thing I did, I ended up binding it off, then realizing there was absolutely no stretch where it was bound off. I put it in a bag and after about 15 years, finally said to heck with it and threw it out. It was gorgeous, too. Still disgusted at myself…. I didn’t realize there was more than one way to bind off….

That colorwork looks beyond my possibilities but you sure caught my interest. May have to look at Ravelry later.

Oh my that would look so good on ME! I love those colors! Can’t wait to see it completely done.

I put my “going to be too small” sweater back into time-out, and pulled out a barely started cardigan to make progress on it…well…I looked down at it Sunday afternoon and realized I made several mistakes about 10 rows back (it has a lace panel down the center back). Now it is in timeout until I can bring myself to start ripping back…ugh!
