I’m not sure if I should be proud or ashamed. The truth is probably somewhere in between.
My very first order with Eat, Sleep, Knit was placed February 22, 2008. That’s very close to 10 years ago.
I was already planning to make a celebratory anniversary order on February 22. I think Vince would agree since this is a special anniversary but just in case he doesn’t agree, I won’t be mentioning it to him.
On the ESK Ravelry group, the subject came up today about first ESK orders. I thought . . I wonder if I could even find that yarn. Deep within me, I hoped I had used it all. It’s been ten years. It’s sock yarn. I’ve made probably well over 100 pairs of socks. Surely I used it. I was tempted to go to my Ravelry projects page and see if I could find it all used up and admire the beautiful socks but I knew better. I went to my trusty spreadsheets and they directed me right to the tub where it was all located.
This yarn was ordered when we lived in MO and I remembered exactly where it was there but didn’t have a clue where it was located here. Thank goodness for those spreadsheets!
I’ve kinda committed to myself to use all this yarn before the end of 2018. That won’t be too hard since it’s sock yarn and I love making socks.
Every time I go digging in the stash, I realize how much yummy yarn I have and how much I want to use it and not leave it behind to be sold for $1/tub when I’m gone. I should stop buying yarn . . right?

I’ve just finished two cross stitch projects from 1986. I hadn’t cross stitched in 30 years! But I picked them up one day and they finally looked interesting again–and I LOVE the idea that I circled back and completed them. Cross stitch closure as it were. You just never know what you’ll go back to; like quilting, right? You can’t force it. You just have to wait for the fever to come ’round again.

It may be 10 year old yarn but it’s aged beautifully! The pair with the soft rainbow colors is especially pretty!

I guess it depends on whether using it or collecting it gives you more pleasure. =) Those are beautiful colors, and nothing has changed about that, nor will it.

Sometimes I have a nightmare that my fabric stash is used to make hideous Halloween costumes or my yarn stash used to make yarn art in a kindergarten class.. And it prompts me to start something with my more cherished acquisitions.

Everyone of those sock yarn cakes are lovely. I would be quickly finding that tub to get started on a new pair of beautiful socks with any of them.

My first order was in 2011 and half has been used.

Good luck with not purchasing more, the colours are so lucscious how can you not?

My goodness, 488 orders in 10 years. That means you ordered yarn, on average, once a week except for 4 weeks each year and that’s only from one place! That is a serious addiction!
