Last night I finished the Winter Rose socks. These are mostly what I knitted on while in Louisiana.
The pattern was very easy to memorize and was a quick project. As always when I finish a project that went smoothly, I think about wanting to knit it again but there are so many projects I want to knit, for now I won’t start a second pair of these.
Back to knitting on my February UFO . . which is taking forever. It’s lots of stockinette and I get bored so I’ll probably switch off between the sweater, the blanket and a shawl. February is almost half over and I should be farther along with this UFO if I intend to finish it. I will finish!

These are beautiful, Judy! The color is just gorgeous too!
Joyce in Oregon says
Love your socks, Judy! Maybe when you get bored knitting you can go to your spreadsheet or tubs and find yarn for the next pair. 🙂
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, yes. Digging for yarn is always fun!
Anne says
They are beautiful Judy, of course, all your knitting projects are fab! I was wondering how they fit? I was concerned about that row of low stitch count and how that row would or wouldn’t constrict the socks and make them too tight. And did you have to count your stitches frequently?
Judy Laquidara says
I don’t think I understand what you’re asking about the row of low stitch count. No, I didn’t count. Once I got started, I didn’t have to count at all.
Sharon Decker says
I am working on my second sock in this pattern, but left the foot plain. The pattern shows you the stitch count for every row. I believe there is no constriction because of the yarn overs. This pattern was a lot easier than I thought when I first saw it.

I love these socks the best of all you have shown. The color AND the pattern are simply perfect t!!
Sandie Mackintosh says
Okay- I caved. I wasn’t going to do this , but after seeing yours, I couldn’t resist temptation any longer! These will be my first”lace type project… wish me luck! (And in case you haven’t figured it out yet, you’re my version of Denise/ Amy/ Judy D! I have to have someone to blame!)
Judy Laquidara says
Wait . . are you saying you’re blaming me? That’s not nice! But, it’s ok because I blame everyone else for my bad habits. The pattern is really easy. There are only two rows (out of a 5 row sequence) where you have to think and after a few repeats, it really flows and is easy to memorize. You will know right off if you’ve made a mistake . . when you purl 1, knit 7 . . if you have 5 or 6 or 8 to knit, you know you made a mistake and the mistakes are easy to find and easy to fix, even if you’re on the next row when you find them. Holler at me if you need help.
Dar in MO says
These just might be my favorite socks that you’ve made. Of course, I love anything purple which makes them great!!
