One thing for sure . . when we leave Louisiana, we’ll have to get back on a seriously healthy eating routine. Yesterday morning we went to Mama Reta’s Kitchen. The chief cook, Reta, came out to our table and visited with us. We had smothered chicken with rice and gravy and it was so good. She even told me how she made it so good.
Cane’s Fried Chicken is all over . . except Brownwood, so I didn’t want to leave town without going there so we had dinner at Cane’s last night.
The Louisiana food is good . . especially since that’s what I grew up with.
We’ve been told there’s a good Greek restaurant down the street from where we’re staying so we may go by there this evening. Good thing we don’t come here often or we’d have more weight to lose.

I’m not crazy about Cane’s..there’s one about 5 min. from my house but never go there. Now Greek! That’s a different story, especially if their taboulleh is yummy!! I LOVE good taboulleh!!

My recently passed Granddaughter was a manager of Cane’s, around the Dallas area so I had to try it out. It was indeed delicious, but would have been more so if she had been working when this Gammy was there picking up food. I truly miss that Grandbaby more than I can ever express.
