I love good fried gizzards. Vince wouldn’t touch a gizzard if he was starving. My uncle had wanted to go to a little place that has fried seafood but one of my friends told me they have good fried gizzards.
They were delicious.
Are you ready for me to get home and do something besides eat out?

I’m enjoying your food posts because I’ll be traveling to Louisiana for the first time next June.

We went to a little KFC in Iowa that had Kentucky Fried GIzzards every Tuesday. I was too grossed out to even try them, but my friends did. I’m with Vince, starving has a certain nobility to it. I don’t eat any sort of offal now, though I did like crumbed brains when I was a child

Ditto here for the fried Gizzards! And liked fried pig brains also when too young to know what I was eating lol. Haven’t had them since but I still remember having a bite from my father’s sandwich and loving them.

Never had fried gizzards and never will. They don’t sound the least bit appetizing to me. I do love fried chicken, fish, shrimp, etc, but If I ate that much fried food, even on vacation, I’d be sick for a month! Oven fried chicken is about the most I can handle anymore, and I’ve learned to love shrimp and other seafood, grilled, broiled, sauteed or roasted, except for a very occasional splurge on KFC.

We used to have gizzards and hearts when we were kids, it must have been a cheap meal as we were a family of 7 and didn’t have a lot of money! I wouldn’t touch liver, though.

My mother’s favorite piece of chicken was the gizzard. I was happy to let her have it! 🙂
